Perigee Moon

I took this photo of the perigee moon (or super moon) on 9-28-15 @ 1:57 a.m. EST.  I couldn't sleep.  My mom had died in hospice the day before.  My mind wouldn't turn off - so many things to do and not sure where I should even start.  I knew it was going to be a super moon and that it was going to undergo an eclipse.  I decided to sit on the deck and watch [...]

Out of Chicago - Chapter 1

Last week at this time, I was hangin’ out in Chicago.  I hadn’t been to Chicago for years, and I’d forgotten what a thriving and beautiful city it is.  I took the Megabus to Chicago from Detroit.  I had not done that bus trip before, but it was well worth the $55 round trip fare that I paid – including reserved seats.  The Megabus has WiFi, electrical outlet[...]

Chapter 2 - Wandering in Iceland

If I have to get lost, Iceland is a great place in which to be adrift.  Though not really lost, I am without a map of this country so I have no clue where I’m going.  That might be a good thing really.  It will force me to go with the flow and stop being in charge.  It’ll feel good to just be a follower. So, on my second day in Iceland and my first day wi[...]

Composition Tips for Photography

Since I get these newsletters (or whatever you want to call them) in my email, I figured I'd share them with anyone who's interested.  They come from Picture Correct. Enjoy and maybe learn something from these tips.  Not only might it be helpful for you, but posting these tips is a good way for me to remember where I put them.

Upcoming Events for The Water Closet Werks

One of my images was selected for the 87th Regional Exhibition at the Muskegon Museum of Art. That exhibit runs June 4 through August 5. If you're in the Muskegon area, treat yourself to a visit of this little known gem of a museum. Closer to home, another of my images will be on exhibit at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center's 2015 Michigan Fine Arts Comp[...]
